The First Russian Youth Innovation Convention, Moscow, Russia
9-10 December, 2008 in the World Trade Center (Moscow) took place The First Russian Youth Innovation Convention which was organized by Federal Youth Agency.
About 1000 young people up to 35 years old participated in the Convention – scientists, inventors, innovation project managers and venture investors. Among participants were such well-known people like Richard Florida, world famous expert on urban development, John Naisbitt, writer and futurologist, Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Corporation and one of the founders of Apple Company Guy Kawasaki, who came to Russia as a venture investor.
Within the Convention young Russian researchers and inventors presented their innovation projects. APSTEC scientists showed their project in security sphere “Anti-Terrorist System for Automatic Inspection of Human Body Secretly and in Real Time” (see Photo 1).

First winners of the National award in the name of Vladimir Zvorykin were chosen. Awards for the best innovation project, informational support of innovation economy and to the most successful innovation manager were bestowed by members of expert council, including Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko, Minister of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy Vitaly Mutko,
President of RNC “Kurchatovsky Institute” Evgeny Velikhov and the head of Rosnano Corporation Anatoly Chubais. Closing ceremony was attended by the President of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev (see Photo 2).
