Demonstration of SENNA IV - device for "dirty bomb" detection


Demonstration and testing of the device for "dirty bomb" detection were carried out under the terms of the NATO Scientific Committee project Science for Peace Program. This device was developed jointly by APSTEC and V.G. Khlopin Radium Institute.

Testing was attended by representatives of Russian security services interested in application of the equipment and by delegation of Bruker Daltonik company (Germany) and The Netherlands Organization (TNO) (The Netherlands), which took part in the project. In demonstration participated delegates from Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands (the Netherlands), French Atomic Energy Commission (France) and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (United Kingdom). On the behalf of NATO Science Committee presentation was attended by Dr. Chris De Wispelaere (Science for Peace Programme Director, Head Collaborative Programmes Section, NATO Public Diplomacy Division).
